I will be receiving my Bachelor’s degree this May, and I am ready to relocate. I have been living in St. Louis Missouri all my life, and Im ready for change. I would like to know about the dichotomy of Houston, and would it be a placed recomended for someone like myself. I would like to know what part of Houston should I move to. Where should I stay away from, and how is the job market for higher educated African American’s.

does anyone know about Jefferson City, Missouri as far as the school system is concerned?

im researching the school systems because my 2 daughters and i are considering moving there after this school year is over. we traveled there last week and really enjoyed ourselves. there are 11 elementary schools and 2 high schools. i didnt get to stay and ask the locals so if anyone has lived there or knows the different areas in the city, i would appreciate your input…. thank you so much.

is there one district(s) that are safer or more better than the others? or what im trying to say is, should i be concerned about putting my children in one district and/or school than the rest? other than being close to a job, id like to have them in two close schools…

What is an affordable area to live outside D.C?

I am thinking of taking a job in D.C. However, I know I do not want to live in the city. What are some affordable (understanding that cost of living is extremely high) and “safe” suburbs to live in around D.C.? I am willing to commute up to about an hour each way but unfortunately I know very little about the area to even get me started. Help!

To start everyone off, I make $25/hour, I am a powerplant operator, and I have been here for 3 months now, but I have 5 years experience in the field. Highest level of education is high school.
