I have (a) major problem(s)?

I was reflecting today and I have some things I need help with.

I’m 17, a senior in high school. An all boy’s school. I have some things going on in my life that I’d like to express. I’ll probably sound like a loser here, but **** it. I’m already considered a loser. I’m already hell-bound.

1. I have no girlfriend. I know no girls. I haven’t really talked to any girls since the end of middle school. 4 years ago. I know some people said “wait until college bro, it will get better.” No. It will not get better. I am an unattractive guy (at least I don’t think I’m that attractive). Many of my class mates know so many girls… I don’t know how. Many of them have had *** or have had girlfriends. Then there is I, with none. Second point,

2. College. Many of my friends are going to the college of their dreams. I am only have 3 college choices due to the lack of monetary funds that my family has, my average scores during my Junior year (due to me being screwed over by certain particulars), and that some of the colleges I was looking at did not have my major. Many of my friends are going out of state, away from the radii of their parents, to colleges such as University of Virginia, Georgetown, Princeton, Harvard, etc… The list goes on. I am stuck here, most likely going to a college that is closely affiliated with my school. Not am I only going to look like a bum because I didn’t get into a different school or applied out of state, but I’ll be getting the same 4 years of the same Catholic bullshit. Many of my friends can’t wait to leave this place and start off on a new adventure.
This leads to Point #3.

3. My major in college will be Graphic Design. I thought it would be a cool idea in my freshman and sophomore years. I then looked at the average salary of Graphic Design and it’s ****. It’s terrible. My dad is trying to deter me from going into that field, saying he doesn’t want me going down the path he went down, (the path of a low salary and a job that isn’t his favorite (but he doesn’t **** it) but does to support his family). He tells me about other careers such as engineering and doctoring. Well, I’m sub-par at math, except Algebra, and I’m in one AP course which is Government. I’m somewhat good at History, but I can’t imagine myself as a Lawyer or a Historian. Now that I think about it, what the **** is someone going to do with a Graphic Designer? What a shitty job to be in. Seriously. I can’t think of doing anything else but Graphic Design or something related to music or film. Point #4.

4. I have no special talents or abilities. I’m not very athletic. I don’t play any sports due to the fact that I get tired far easier than normal humans. This is all because of a medical condition(again I get the short end of the stick). I’m not the smartest of the bunch either. The only connection I have to sports is being the Lacrosse manager.(I needed an extracurricular for Junior year college resume). I often get depressed when I see people play sports and I start thinking about how I could be out there, people cheering for me. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE playing Lacrosse recreationally and I love watching it, but it’s just when my mind starts thinking, I get kinda sad. Especially I feel as manager I get the short end of the stick(again) and all can do is just watch.

5. Some people are already making their early-late Spring and even summer plans. I’m mainly talking about Prom and Senior Week, a week long event at the beach in Ocean City where everyone just parties and has a good time. I’m not going to Prom because I know no girls and I’m not going to Senior Week because I have no one to stay with.

6. I have finished my experimental phase. I have never had the chance to try alcohol or weed. I’m not so much interested in alcohol, but mainly marijuana, especially since some people have reported it being a cool experience for them, especially with the strains that have more THC. We all know it, marijuana isn’t bad for you if you do it in moderation, it’s mainly the smoke that you can say “yes this stuff will **** you up”, but other than that it’s not too bad. It’s decriminalized in several states and it’s going to end up getting legalized anyway, starting with Oregon in 2010. I’m not even gonna be a junkie like some people, I just wanted to try it.

7. I wish I could say that I have a strong belief in a higher being, but I’m sort of becoming an atheist. Christianity and other faith based religions seem to make less and less sense everyday, especially considering the shape the world’s in. I can’t just blindly believe in something that’s not logical. Why are some people suffering while others are living it up? That makes no sense if there’s a divine creator over all of Earth. **** it.

I looked back on my life and saw that it was great up until high school. Now, it’s just a never-ending chain. College is going to be a guaranteed suckfest, my job might end up sucking, and I’m going to have low pa

All you wise and sensible people out there. work your magic please?

im a senior in high school, im your average student. i get decent GPA’s (in the low 3’s), im ok in sports, the only thing im proud of is my involvement in church and my musical abilities especially at the violin.

Then there’s my girlfriend, we are very very close. we arent your normal high school couples going on and off. we have a lot of trust and love for each other. But, the thing is, i feel so much pressure around her nowadays with colleges and whatnot because she is simply amazing. I mean, she is captain of the varsity volleyball team, gets amazing grades, is on par with me in music except she plays the piano, and is the chief editor for the community newspaper.

i want to stay with her, but i dont think i can get into the same college nor worse yet, i dont think i deserve her. but i really want to stay with her for the rest of my life. I think its time i made a serious decision. so please help me… thanks

My dream is to become a Kindergarden teacher. What classes should I take, High School and College?

I’d love to be a Kindergarden teacher! I also love writing. It would be amazing to be an author part time, also…what High School and College classes would I take for both of these?

And, how long does it normally take to become a Kindergarden Teacher? 4 years?? Hmmm…any good colleges? Let me know!

–Thanks–

What percentile is a 3.56 in high school?

I want to go to Ohio State, and was wondering what percentile this would leave me in, so I could compare myself to other OSU applicants? I was also wondering if colleges weigh different schools students go to differently?

is it wrong to care what your grades are in middle school?

Some people in my class are like really not worried about thier grades because they say that colleges don’t look at your grades until your in 9th grade. Is it wrong that I should care about how I’m doing in school. Is it wrong that I put school first?

Advice for a high school student wanting to major in psychology?

I’m a junior in high school and for the longest time I’ve been very interested in psychology. I’m currently researching different colleges but it is really hard to tell which would have the best psychology program. I would like to attend college in pennsylvania and I would like to attend a private college but I was just wondering if anyone knows of a very good psychology school. I can’t find anything on which are top ranked. Additional advice on anything that has to do with psychology as a career or going into college for psychology would be great.

Do colleges take junior year of high school into more consideration than your overall high school GPA?

Ok so, the past 2 years I really REALLY slacked off in high school with I’d say a 1.6-1.7 GPA, if I finished my junior year with atleast a 3.3 would i be able to get into good schools?

(I’m really looking into Umass Amherst…is there still hope?)

high school junior vs senior year (if i didnt do much in junior year, can i make it up in senior year?)?

ok so i didnt do much in junior year

i have the good grades but i didnt reall get involved in many activities except history honors society and one AP classes, and two college now classes (but i failed the AP test, which is litearlly my teachers fault, and idk if college now class really matters)

so im just wondering, im taking 4 AP classes and joining 2 academies and probably college now classes after school

so will the colleges look at that at all? i mean i know junior year is the most imporatnt but how much do they weigh your senior, if you do much more then…

im thinking of joining 3 academies and 4 AP classes
ok so its not too late right?

i mean the colleges would still care about what i do in my senior year and not neglect it right?

because ive been hearing that its too late that i should just slack off in senior year, and i feel really guilty for not doing much in my junior year

How many class periods did you take your senior year of high school?

Did you take a full schedule your senior year? How many classes? Were any of those hard classes (AP’s, Hons.,etc.)? Did you get accepted into the college you wanted to? How many colleges did you get accepted to?

Best Answer= 10 points!!!
