Becuase of the high starch content, I would advise around 6-7 months. Right around the time your start baby foods.

I would wait until he has more teeth and has mastered feeding himself, simply because rice can be a choking hazard. My daughter eats it and she is 2. So probably 18 months, maybe?

I gave rice to both of my children around 8 months, when they were pretty good with other solid foods. It’s big enough for them to pick up, but too small to pose a choking hazard.

Wait until he can eat other solids, like cheerios (by eat I mean chew, not gum up and eventually swallow).

Babies can eat table foods when THEY are ready to eat table foods. (Can pick the food up and put it in their mouths.)

Rice is soft, small, and easy to pick up, so would logically be an early table food. The most common range for starting table foods is 7-9 months, but there’s some variation.

(Incidently, while babies ‘can’ have babyrice as early as 4 months, all reliable sources would recommend waiting until around 6 months for anything but breastmilk/formula, unless baby clearly needs something earlier.)

I gave my kids rice at about 8 months. I used to make my own baby food and I would run the rice through the food processor a little before cooking it to break it up a bit. It was good to mix with pureed meat and veggies to make a complete meal for them once they were really eating solids. Be careful giving too much rice, though. It can cause constipation. Brown rice is best, it’s the most nutritiuos and has the most fiber.
