How can I get a wireless connection through my high speed connection?

We have high speed internet with Comcast, but when the man installed it, he told me that I could get a wireless connection through our internet. So I was just wondering if anyone knew how I could get this connection. My laptop came with a wireless card built in it already, so it’s just a matter of creating a connection.

You need to purchase a wireless router, which will connect to the cable modem box. Then after you setup the router you now have your wireless connection.

ok….you will first need a wireless router ( if you havenot allready got one.
then the ethernet wire that goes from your modem to your computer, should instead go into the router…and a wire from your router back to the computer…so its modem>>Router>>back to computer….your laptop can just connect to the wireless network.( wireless router about 50 60pounds,. )

It is really simple. You have the high speedcable modem already, not you will just need to purchase a wireless router. The wireless router connects from the modem staight into your router. Linksys wireless routers are sold for abour 69 dollars. Once you set up the router, your laptop will detectthe new network and allow you to connect to it. Hope this helps.

Wireless router. 99% of people should use a G router, look for something like this “IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless-G” in the AD. There N routers out now but it over kill unless you plan to have several laptops running highend online games at the sametime. Don’t spend more than $100. I like Netgear.
This one is $39
Just stick with a name brand D-link, Netgear, etc

Get a wireless router, and connect it with the RJ45 connection to the main router. Install drivers to the computer or the laptop you wish to have internet connection, and enjoy the experience of internet any place at your apartment.

nope its not only abt creating a connection…!!
u have to have a wireless router with u to transmit so tht ur laptop will receive it…!!!
try for the linksys wireless G routers..thy r gud n cheap tooo
